The future of EVs is inevitable, whether these vehicles are made with clean energy or not. However, it is a scam and irresponsible of manufacturers to market the EV as “environmentally friendly.” Because it is not.
The supply chain of EVs is infested with pollution. In a nutshell, EV production pollutes our earth more than ICE vehicles.
According to the latest report published by Polestar,1 the EV supply chain, which includes everything from mineral mining to metal smelting and battery manufacturing, generates 35 to 50 percent more greenhouse gas emissions than that of gas-powered vehicles.
To understand whether EV is better for the environment (and your wallet) than ICE, we need to focus on the stages in the supply chain for EV batteries.
