The (Unkept) Promise
Electric Vehicle companies Rivian, Lucid Motors, and Canoo went public via SPAC in 2021 (Canoo on December 21, 2020) despite no revenue.
The companies have told investors that they will start producing or delivering vehicles in 2022. We are in the tail end of 2022, and the mentioned companies have not generated any meaningful revenue.
LCID and RIVN have lost roughly 50% of their IPO price.
GOEV has lost nearly 70% of its IPO price. It is officially “walking dead.”
Several U.S. EV makers, including Lordstown Motors and Fisker, became public over the last two years with much lower valuations and promised to deliver vehicles in 2022 or by 2023.
What Do Investors Need To Know Before Investing?
As an investor, if you are interested in investing in EVs, you need to focus on the battery, the necessity of a battery management system, and the components involved to make an efficient battery.
As an investor, you need to know your best investments in the EV sector are not the car makers but the companies worldwide that are involved in the extraction of minerals that goes into the battery, and companies that are creating efficient batteries that are not Lithium - ion.
With the intent to inform our subscribers - investors and consumers alike, we will inform, educate, and establish awareness of EV technologies, policies, and incentives for the investing communities.
Batteries
The battery and the Battery Management System (BMS) are the critical components of a successful EV company. Ergo, an important part of the investment analysis.
